ABOUT THE ROLE

Are you a creative and enthusiastic Drama Teacher who can inspire confidence, imagination, and a love of performance in students?

Kuwait English School (KES) is seeking a passionate Drama Teacher capable of teaching Drama up to IGCSE level. Experience teaching A-Level Drama would be welcomed.

The successful candidate will play an active role in promoting Drama throughout the school. This includes supporting after-school clubs and contributing to, or leading, a school production each year. Drama teachers are expected to commit to after-school rehearsals when required to ensure the success of the school’s productions.

KES follows the National Curriculum for England and offers Cambridge and Pearson qualifications within a diverse international community.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Teach engaging and creative Drama lessons up to IGCSE level.
  • Plan and deliver lessons in line with the British Curriculum.
  • Prepare students for practical performances, coursework, and external examinations.
  • Assess student progress and provide meaningful, constructive feedback.
  • Create an inclusive classroom environment that builds students’ confidence, creativity, and performance skills.
  • Promote Drama and the performing arts throughout the school.
  • Support and lead after-school Drama clubs and activities.
  • Contribute to, or lead, at least one school production each year.
  • Commit to after-school rehearsals when required to support successful school productions.
  • Maintain accurate academic and assessment records.
  • Participate in curriculum development, parent meetings, school events, and professional development.
  • Uphold KES safeguarding policies and professional standards.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Drama, Theatre, Performing Arts, Education, or a closely related field.
  • Recognised teaching qualification or licence preferred.
  • Ability to teach Drama up to IGCSE level.
  • Experience teaching A-Level Drama is welcomed.
  • One to two years of relevant teaching experience preferred.
  • Experience directing or contributing to school productions and extracurricular Drama activities.
  • Strong classroom management, communication, and organisational skills.
  • A collaborative, enthusiastic, and flexible approach.
  • Willingness to participate in after-school clubs, rehearsals, and productions.
  • Eligible to obtain a Kuwait work visa.
